Sophies 29th Stills-22 Roger Robinson.jpg

Get in losers, Sophie is turning 29 and we’re celebrating.

This is circus, comedy and chaos disguised as a house party. Imagine if Cirque du Soleil had sunstroke, Spice Girls never broke up and Les Miserables was actually Les Happyables.

Featuring world-leading performers from La Clique, The 7 Fingers, Cirque du Soleil, and more, Sophie’s Surprise 29th is stumbling into Underbelly Boulevard for its London debut. Expect Twilight fan fiction, death-defying circus feats and a pumping soundtrack at the craziest party of your life.

Remember… don’t tell Sophie.

Katharine Arnold

Aerial extraordinaire Katharine Arnold has spent the better part of the last 60 years entertaining audiences across the globe. Performing with Cirque du Soleil, La Clique, Majestique and many more, she’s the cream of the crop. If a cat needed to go to sleep, they would wear Katharine Arnold to bed. Fun fact; Katharine Arnold is reprising her role as ‘Ugly Duckling’ from a school play she did when she was 5.

Cornelius Atkinson

Straps superstar Cornelius has muscles on his muscles. He has muscles you didn’t even know existed. He has big muscles. Mmmm muscles. He’s taken his brawn all over the world with Cirque du Soleil, but has brought it home to London just for you. So strap in for a straps act that will blow your mind.

Dru Cripps

Dru Cripps, a well sought after clown in the London comedy scene, headlines nights with his special brand of purely improvised musical comedy. Dru’s unique wildness has to be seen to be believed. Recognised for his comedic prowess with rave 5-Star reviews, Dru has graced stages at various theatres, festivals, and renowned events across the comedy landscape. With appearances on Dave, ITV, and the BBC, he is a comedic force not to be missed.

Isis Clegg-Vinell

Isis Clegg-Vinell is a multi-talented acrobat with a lifetime of experience. She skates, she tumbles, she balances and she even flies through the air with an appropriate level of ease. She has so many performance credits, having performed with Cirque du Soleil, 7 Fingers, La Soiree, Majestique, and Teatro ZinZanni, that she’s struggling to keep her CV to a single page.

Josie Jones

Josie Jones is an international circus performer. Originally trained as a dancer, she moved into physical theatre before beginning training as a circus and fire artist. Originally from the UK Josie has recently returned from South Carolina where she performed in Cabaret Royale with Underbelly – and previous to this at Universal Studios Florida for the past two years with fire and aerial performance group the Fuel Girls. Josie began studying the ancient art of hair suspension and also likes to set things on fire.

Nathan Redwood Price

He can mostly be found on the ground; where he throws & catches people, and in general endangers the safety of others for your entertainment.

His CV is identical to Isis’ as they’ve spent the last 13 years travelling the world performing as part of the aptly & unimaginatively named duo Nathan&isis.

Three Legged Race Productions

‘Limitations foster creativity’

The three legged race is the most creative of all the races. Everybody knows that.

For that reason, and definitely not the fact that companies house required us to submit a company name and that there are three of us, Three Legged Race productions was created in 2021 by Katharine Arnold, Isis Clegg-Vinell and Nathan Price.

The company’s first show: Sophie’s Surprise 29th, an immersive circus and cabaret show, premiered in London that summer and was immediately picked up for a headline slot at Edinburgh Fringe the following year.

Bringing together over a decade of experience working at the highest and lowest levels of circus, from the prestigious stages of Cirque du Soleil across the world to the equally-but-differently-prestigious stages of sticky floored basements in Piccadilly Circus, Three Legged Race Productions have seen, done, and experienced it all.

There is no idea too weird, no trick too sketchy and no joke we won’t over-do.
